Vice President of Academic Success
William R. “Bill” Bell serves Northwestern College as Vice President of Academic Success. Bill comes to NC with a 20 year background in higher education, with 16 of those years leading academic teams for a variety of higher education institutions. All of his experience stems from roles at proprietary colleges, giving him a rich perspective of the operation of our institution on multiple levels, not limited to merely academics in general. Bill has served as an Academic Dean, a Director of Education and Dean of Academic Affairs for institutions including ITT Technical Institute, Coyne American Institute of Chicago, Lincoln Technical Institute, in addition to Everest and Westwood Colleges. Bill’s past experience reveals a history of strategically improving both student experiences and outcomes while also balancing the short and long-term needs and goals of an academic department with the overall operation and financial aspects of a college as a whole.
Bill earned his Master of Arts in Education Administration in 2000 from Governor’s State University with a concentration in Higher Education Administration; his Bachelor of Arts & Science in 1997 from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Psychology Major and Biology Minor, and his Associate of Science from Moraine Valley Community College.
