Jill Maksymec has been working in higher education for nearly a decade. She began her career with Northwestern College as the Director of Admissions in June 2015. Her goal in admissions was to assemble a talented team with the knowledge and experience to help make the dream of completing their college education a reality for today’s busy adults. In her current role as Campus Director, Jill’s focus is ensuring our students have support in and out of the classroom as they progress towards graduation and their chosen career.
Before joining Northwestern College, Jill was a Director of Admissions for Everest College. During her tenure, she was closely involved in the training and development of several admissions teams, and was instrumental in growing student population at multiple campuses. In addition to her admissions background, Jill also gained valuable experience working with teams in academics, career services, and compliance. Prior to working in higher education, Jill was a Regional Store Manager for Activation Point, Inc., a wireless retailer.
Jill holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Throughout her time there, she was involved with the Child Abuse Prevention Project (CAPP), which focused on giving children the tools to identify abuse and the confidence to reach out for help. Her experience with CAPP had a great influence on her, and Jill decided to continue her education. She earned her Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University with a concentration in School Counseling. During her final year in graduate school, Jill completed her practicum at Northside College Preparatory High School in Chicago’s North Park neighborhood. Her focus was on college preparation and success planning for transitioning students.
