Academic Dean, Chicago Campus
Wendy Ingrassia began her career in the groundbreaking field of Computer Graphics in the 1980’s. She taught courses in Computer Graphic Art and Design, 3D Modeling and Animation at Columbia College, College of DuPage and the American Academy of Art in Chicago. During her 9 years tenure at the American Academy of Art, she advanced from adjunct faculty member to the position of Director of Education.
She has worked for Northwestern College for over ten years. She manages the daily operations of the Chicago campus Academic departments in collaboration with the Program Directors and Program Coordinators. Wendy facilitates the Chicago campus course schedule, participates in the hiring of new faculty and creates faculty professional development opportunities including quarterly Faculty In-Service meetings and Institute Days in cooperation with her fellow Academic Deans.
Wendy has been involved in professional organizations in several leadership positions. These include ACM/ SIGGRAPH (Special Interest Group in Computer Graphics), Chicago Chapter, Board of Directors (10 years), Chairperson, and Newsletter Editor. She was Co-founder and Chair of their first Midwest Computer Graphic Arts Shows. Wendy served as the Publicity Director for Women in Design / Chicago. She served two years on the Executive Committee as Treasurer for the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at the Riverview Elementary School in Silver Lake, WI.
