Sothea Nhem is the director of the diagnostic medical sonography program. She has been an established sonographer since 2006 and has worked for hospitals in the Chicagoland area such as Advocate and Cook County. Nhem received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa in 2005 with academic honors. She was the educator/director at Aquarius Institute in Des Plaines for five years prior to joining Northwestern College in 2014.
Nhem is a licensed sonographer from two of the largest credentialing agencies in the nation – the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Her credentials are specialized in obstetrics & gynecology, abdomen, adult echocardiography, and vascular studies.
